Classmates

I graduated from community college and later went back to college and received a BS in Adult Teaching. In my late 20’s I went to work for a dude ranch in Colorado for a season and fell in love with Colorado. I moved there at 30 and worked at the American Numismatic Association where I met my wonderful husband, David. We married and I moved to be with him in NJ and raise 2 of his 3 children.

We have traveled extensively and to all 7 continents (we actually went to Antarctica twice – one time I actually sat with the penguins as they walked over my feet).

Our story has been typical of anyone’s – filled with ups and downs, joys and grief. I lost my father right after high school, and my mother in 2005. Sadly, we lost both my brother (Dave) and my son (Scott) in 2013. Scott was one of the 22 veterans a day who after returning from war with an injury (PTSD and a closed head brain trauma) took his own life.

Currently, I am helping my husband navigate the treacherous path that is Parkinson’s disease. We are getting ready for his 2nd brain stimulation implant after the first one resulted in an infection and having to have everything removed. He is the bravest man I have ever known and until him, I never knew how deep and true a love could be.

Our plans our to stay in New Jersey until David “retires” – yes, he is still working, even with the Parkinson’s and then retire/move to the Colorado Springs area.
